Connect BigQuery to Allin with MCP
Everything to prepare to connect this tool to Allin.
This guide is public. It contains no company configuration and grants no Allin access. Share secrets through your usual secure channel.
Technical preparation
- 1
Create a dedicated service account and enable the BigQuery API on the relevant projects.
- 2
Grant roles/mcp.toolUser and roles/bigquery.jobUser on the projects used, then roles/bigquery.dataViewer on authorized datasets.
- 3
Check serviceusage.services.use on the quota project. If your organization allows keys, generate a JSON key for this account.
What to give the Allin administrator
The complete JSON file (including its private key), accessible project IDs and, if different, the quota project.
MCP server address
https://bigquery.googleapis.com/mcpIf the connection fails
mcp.tools.call denied: check roles/mcp.toolUser on the specified project. The quota project does not replace a tool’s projectId or restrict accessible data.
Next, in Allin
Save the connection, authorize the account if needed, then discover tools. Enable only the tools you need and grant access to the relevant teams or people.
